My Story
I developed an interest in working with wood while in high school. Mr. Jarvis, the shop teacher at Orangeburg-Wilkinson High during the 1980s and 1990s, played a significant role in nurturing my passion. Before we could start building, we first had to learn mechanical drawing. Over several months, we honed our skills in creating 3D drawings, progressing from basic to more intricate designs. My fascination with becoming a draftsman led me to pursue a full scholarship at Orangeburg Technical School after high school, with Mr. Jarvis’s invaluable guidance.
During my time in shop class, I began with small projects like cutting boards. Over the four years, I even crafted a full-size drafting table, which turned out wonderfully. Sadly, I had to part with that table when I joined the Navy. Now, many years later, I find myself with the time to delve back into woodworking. I create charcuterie boards, wine caddies, shot boards, resin products, and more as a hobby. My current goal is to build various products for pleasure and, hopefully, sell them to cover the materials needed for further creations. This hobby provides a relaxing escape from work and other responsibilities.
